Red Dog is a very fun and exciting game where the goal is to get a card with a value that lies between the values of the first two cards. It is not difficult to learn, below an explanation of this simple game.
In Red Dog you get dealt a total of 3 cards, two open and one closed card. You put money on the chance that the third card has a value that lies between the values of the first two cards. When you get a 4 and a 9 for example, the third card will have to be a 5, 6, 7, or 8. In this case you would have 4 chances, this is also known as the spread. In the former example, you would have a spread of 4.
When the third card falls outside of the spread or is equal to the other cards, the house wins. When the first two cards are equal, the third card may give you a three of a kind, which pays out 11:1.
When the first two cards are consecutive, it is a tie or push. You will not lose, but the bet will remain on the table.
The numbered cards are all worth their face value in red Dog. The jack counts as 11, the queen as 12, and the king as 13. The ace has a value of 14 and not 1. You can thus have a 2 and an ace, which gives a spread of 12.
Progressive betting means that you can keep your winnings on the table to bet them in the next round. You can keep doing this as long as you want. In between rounds you can always collect you winnings by clicking COLLECT. At the bottom of the csreen you can use the game settings to turn the progressive play option on or off. This can only be done between rounds, so not during a round.
You can pick from various chips in Red Dog. These have a value of 1, 5, 10, and 100. You can bet every chip multiple times and combine them, as long as you bet a minimum of 1 euro and a maximum of 100 euros.
In the middle of the screen you immediately see the pay table and spread table. This shows the spread for every round and what the possible winnings will be. So, you will never have to calculate it yourself.
A couple of game settings are adjustable in Red Dog. You do this by using the three icons at the bottom left of the screen.
The sound can be turned on or off using the speaker icon.
The question mark opens the help screen.
The wrench icon allows you to adjust a few additional settings:
You start Red Dog by picking a chip and placing it in the ante circle. Every click on the ante circle will add one time the value of the chosen chip. If you want to remove a bet, click the grey chip with the red cross followed by a click on your bet. When you agree to your bet, you click DEAL. Now you will get two cards dealt open and a third closed card. When there is no push, the round will continue. The bank places a Red Dog chip on the spread table so you can see your spread and potential winnings.
You can now opt to raise by clicking the RAISE button. In that case a bet is placed in the raise circle, your bet will then be doubled, you cannot choose how much you want to raise.
If you do not want to raise, click Bet. In that case you play with the start bet.
The bank then announces the third card. If this falls within the spread, you win according to the pay table. If it is equal to or outside of the spread, you lose.
If you played without progressive betting, you can start a new round by clicking Rebet or New Bet.
If you played with progressive betting, you winnings will remain on the table and you can start a new round by clicking DEAL with your profit + the original bet as the new bet. You can of course also collect your winnings by clicking COLLECT.
