Mere days after the NetEnt Q3 Roadmap was made official and we threw ourselves into making predictions about the games to come, NetEnt have gone and released video clips of When Pigs Fly, showing gameplay on desktop and mobile platforms. It’s this last one we want to talk about today.
Kind of right…
Ok so we didn’t think this slot would be set in space but we did figure there would be airborne farm animals involved somehow. We were half right, at least.
The footage shows an intrepid piggy intergalactic explorer, complete with space suit and helmet, as well as his ride – an Acme-style rocket ship that evokes the cartoons of our childhood – think a cross between the Jetsons and Marvin the Martian. But that’s where the nostalgic similarities end. This slot adventure takes place in outer space and, thanks to NetEnt’s Touch technology, on the most sophisticated consumer technology available – our smartphones.
The sneak preview we’ve been treated to shows an intuitive and responsive gameplay, thanks to large control buttons that add functionality to the screen, even when it is taken up by the reels themselves (more on those later).
So you can expect a smooth experience, uncluttered by options on the small and valuable real estate available on your smartphone screen.

You won’t find your average 5×3 reel set-up in this NetEnt offering. The reels on this game are laid out like two triangles laid end to end – one centre reel is home to five symbol spaces while the ones either side of it has two spaces and the outermost ones have only one symbol space each.
This adds up to 3125 ways to win – pretty good news for any player!
This game also utilizes a unique re-spin system, whereby each re-spin makes two more symbols available. Stack re-spins to open up the full complement of reels and more chances to win, with an extra 8 free spins thrown in when you open up all the reels.
Cleared for lift-off
When Pigs Fly is scheduled to be released on the 21st July across all platforms. That means we have a bit more than a month until launch date. Still, NetEnt doesn’t like to leave us hanging and might throw us some more teasers, just to make the wait bearable.
