Huge Issues with Skrill (Moneybookers) November 2014!

Huge Issues with Skrill (Moneybookers) November 2014!It’s a tough day when, as a writer, you have to write badly about a company, but as a site who has lots of loyal readers, we’re committed to providing you honest information about the services we promote- good or bad. Today I have to tell you about huge issues that are going on at Skrill (formerly Moneybookers) which, if you’re a customer, will affect you and will affect your money.

Duplicate Skrill Transactions

I have a Skrill account and I ordered the Skrill card that comes along with it. Seemed perfect, I can keep money in the e-wallet but still use it out and about for shopping, as well as for my online casino gameplay. Last night I noticed that there was considerably less in the account than there should have been, checked my statement and for the past 2 days, all transactions had been debited TWICE. Since I checked last night, two more duplicates have been taken as well.

No Skrill Customer Support

I tried emailing Skrill support, but as you’ll know from my Bad Customer Service post, their e-mail support is nonexistent. I tried calling their phone line (020 3514 5562) but there was some issue with their line (perfect signal from my side!) that kept the sound cutting in and out. What I did manage to hear was that she couldn’t see my account as their database is down (on top of everything else!) but she seemed aware of the duplication issue. Then the line cut out completely.

Find a new Payment Method

My advice right now is do not use Skrill payment method. Not for anything- online shopping, store shopping or depositing into your favourite Netent casino: most have a hoard of alternative payment methods available, most of which are much cheaper, so why not give something else a try. If you’re not sure what might suit you, check out our Payments Page where we review and detail loads of different methods and see if you can find a new favourite!

If you’ve used Skrill in the past few days, I’d strongly recommend checking your account balance and transactions to see if your payments have been duplicated and if so, be sure to report it to all their support channels and spread the word to your friends.
