The Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LGA) of Malta Rebrands to Malta Gaming Authority (MGA)In a bid to update and refresh it’s image, the prestigious licensing body, the Lotteries and Gaming Authority (LGA) of Malta has undergone a complete rebranding. This includes a new name- the LGA becomes the MGA, which stands for Malta Gaming Authority- a new logo and a brand new, intuitive website to better communicate their goals and objectives to the world.

The LGA of Malta, now the MGA is one of the most highly respected casino licensing bodies in Europe and this rebrand is a great way to keep their message up to date, whilst keeping their work fresh in the minds of everyone in the industry.

A Lotteries and Other Games Act was created way back in 2001 and sought to bring all iGaming activities together in one safely regulated environment. The power was granted to the LGA to create this regulatory framework and to ensure it moved with the times in order to remain strong and relevant. The newly named Malta Gaming Authority mission statement explains;

“To regulate competently the various sectors of the lotteries and gaming industry that fall under the Authority by ensuring gaming is fair and transparent to the players, preventing crime, corruption and money laundering and by protecting minor and vulnerable players.”

The MGA has a number of aims and objectives to ensure that casinos are treated fairly, whilst players are protected to the highest standard. This protection covers human temperaments (ensuring young and vulnerable people are protected), technological systems (is your data safe?) and much more. To make their aims understood, the MGA have published clear and concise points.
