When it comes to casino gaming, we’re sure that there are some who just dabble occasionally but, for the majority, it’s very much a case of go hard or go home. And, from the looks of research recently released by the retention automation platform, Optimove, it’s pretty evident who’s playing for the longest, depositing faster and spending more than anyone else: mobile casino players.
Whether iPad casino, Android casino or Tablet casino users, it’s those players who opt to spin the reels and play their hands on handheld devices who are progressing faster across all measured metrics than web players on desktop or laptops.
MOBILE CASINO PLAYERS; DEPOSITING FASTER AND PLAYING MORE
The research- released in October 2015, shows that mobile casino players play for 1.6 days compared to web player’s 1. From the first time they sign up, they’re faster to deposit funds than those playing from desktop and laptops and they choose to play far more often. Mobile players will get logged on, deposit funds and spin the reels every 4.2 days. For all other players, it’s just shy of a week.
Interestingly, those who play on mobile casino generally only play on mobile casino. Just 4% of all players quizzed ever played on other platforms.
MOBILE CASINO JACKPOT WINS
Previously only the domain of desktop players, Jackpot slots are now widely available on mobile casino (thanks, in part, to NetEnt’s Touch software), and they’re making millionaires! LeoVegas played host to a record-breaking game earlier in 2015- with one lucky player scooping the largest ever mobile casino jackpot win; a phenomenal €5.6million.
Mobile casino players have access to all the same network jackpots as anyone else, and play for the biggest 7- and 8-figure wins available on games such as Hall of Gods and Mega Fortune.
THE RESEARCH IN PRACTICE; MOBILE NOW UNIBET’S BIGGEST CHANNEL
Some people might suggest that this is just one bit of unsubstantiated evidence but, by analysing the financial records of several of the largest casinos online, it becomes apparent that the theory does ring true in practise.
Take Unibet, for example. Figures released last week, as part of the company’s quarterly revenue announcement cannot be ignored- 51% of the company’s revenue came from mobile casino players; Its single largest channel. Given that the company’s gross winnings revenue totalled £86.1million in Q3 of 2014, this figure is quite staggering.
THE FUTURE FOR MOBILE CASINO GAMING
An interview with LeoVegas CEO- Johan Styren, earlier this year revealed that they too are doing big things in the mobile casino market. Their aim is to be the biggest in the mobile casino landscape and, with over 50% of gameplay on LeoVegas occuring on mobile devices and, given that they are currently the market-leaders in Sweden and getting close to that title in the UK, their strategies appear to be working.
He precicts that, in five years time, mobile will be the largest channel for the entire i-Gaming industry. Laptops, desktops, step aside!
