Net Entertainment further consolidates position Italian igaming market

Published on 17 January 2015 by Sebas

Net Entertainment games released on yet another Italian gaming platform In July of 2013 we announced Net Entertainment had signed its first license agreement with a company (Lottomatica) primarily focused on serving the Italian iGaming market. In March 2014 the company Game Account Network followed.

Yesterday the first Netent casino games went online in by this company operated  online casinos.

A bit of Netent expansion history…

To refresh your memory…

Just like the online (Netent) casinos and as soon as everywhere in Europe (or rather ‘all around the world’) the online casino gaming regulating ‘boom’ exploded in full force also Net Entertainment immediately announced it would actively look to penetrate the (at that time ‘yet-to-be-created’) regulated iGaming markets of several different European countries.

We subsequently saw Net Entertainment closing one license agreement after the other with (usually) the biggest online casino operating companies directed to catering players from several different European countries. By providing their casino gaming products to the (online casino) likes of Paddy Power, William Hill and Bet365, Kroon Casino and Betsson, LottoMatica and Game Account Network Net Entertainment gives ‘acte de présence’ on the regulated (or on the verge of being regulated) iGaming markets of respectively Ireland and the UK, The Netherlands and Belgium and Italy.

The Netent ‘still to do’ list

Only last November Netent commented it looks into the license application of the Spanish regulating authorities to soon also be able to provide (slot) games to Spanish licensed and regulated online casinos. A couple of months earlier the company announced its then Managing Director Netent Malta Mr. Björn Krantz was relieved of his duties as such, only to become the new head of a Netent venture to conquer the (immense) regulated markets of the USA (starting with that of the state of New Jersey) and Canada.

Considering all the above there’s clearly one thing that can’t be denied about Net Entertainment (amongst many other qualities of course)… its capacity to transcend its own company ‘vision’: ‘Driving the online casino market, through Better Games’ (apparently provided to as many players from as many countries possible).

Net Entertainment ‘Veni, vidi, vici’ in Italy too

The ‘expansionism’ of Net Entertainment of course has an obvious parallel with the past of the country the company has fortified its market position in today. Italy about 2500 years ago was the base of the Roman Empire that also showed an unbridled urge to expand and ‘broaden its horizons’. The Romans conquered half of the world and marked presence from Great Britain up to the Middle East and from Northern Africa up to Northern Europe, which at one point provoked the Roman emperorJulius Caesar to his famous quote: ‘Veni, vidi, vici’: I came, saw and conquered. We expect Net Entertainment to do the same with the Italian players registered at the online casinos owned by Game Account Network.

New ‘Italian only’ Netent Casinos upcoming?

At this point it’s not clear if the Italian casinos providing the Netent casino games we love so dearly will be added (now or in the near future) to our list of safe and reliable Netent Casinos. First of all these casinos can only accept subscriptions from Italian born or in Italy residing players and secondly their websites are only available in the Italian language. On the other hand… we’ve listed other ‘one country only’ Netent Casinos on our website too (for example the ‘Finnish only’ Netent Casino Nettiarpa and the ‘Swedish exclusive’ Lyckoskrapet) so maybe we can introduce their Italian counterparts one day to our readers over here too.
