Last year saw the first ever iGaming conference held in Malta; the Sigma iGaming Summit and to say it was a success would be a massive understatement. Well, Sigma is back with Sigma 2015 and it’s even bigger and better. They held the first press conference about the event recently and with ‘networking drinks’ promised, I knew it was a night not to be missed.
Backing from the Big Boys
Anyone who was anyone was in attendance to catch up with old faces, meet some new potential business partners and chat with the founders of Sigma, Eman Pulis and Dennis Dyhr-Hansen as well as the Malta Government Parliamentary Secretary for Competitiveness, Jose Herrera and Heathcliff Farrugia, the COO of the Malta Gaming Authority.
To have both the government as well as the local licensing body behind you is an enormous feat for any iGaming conference, but even more so when it’s only your second year in operation. The big kids were behind Sigma from the start, but their faith has only been strengthened after such a successful first year.
Mr Farrugia was keen to confirm the trust and support that the MGA hold towards Sigma and it’s founders, in making iGaming a more transparent industry, whilst also boosting it’s prominence in Malta, and boosting Malta’s prominence around the world.
The MGA believes that similar events are important for the industry and if well planned, they can improve or sustain Malta’s reputation.
Hon. Jose Herrera echoed the MGA’s faith in this initiative and praised the founders for bringing something so innovative and much needed to this island. With around 300 gaming companies holding some kind of presence here, 500 gaming companies holding an MGA license and around 9000 residents enjoying jobs in the sector, the conference is really common sense. However Eman and Dennis took the idea to the next level by making it the only 360 degree conference of it’s kind, bringing operators (casinos), affiliates (that’s us!) and suppliers (payment methods, game providers) together in one space to meet, greet and get down to some serious business.
What Sigma means for our readers
From our perspective Sigma is the perfect conference, as it’s based here where we are, and gives us at NetentCasino.com the chance to meet up with the teams behind the casinos we have on site, to ensure we’re first to hear all the latest news, to negotiate the best welcome offers and giveaways for our readers and maintain excellent relationships with the people we work with.
We work hard for YOU
This last part is vital, as it means that we always have someone at the casino we can turn to if any of our readers experience problems. We’re on your side, we pride ourselves on being a fact based affiliate website who gives the real picture of each casino and who steps in to help out when you feel like you’re not getting the support you need from the casino you pick to play on.
The Press Conference was a great night of information and buzz surrounding this new event and I can’t wait until it kicks off later in the year so I can bring you the backstage goss as well as loads of exciting new opportunities and goodies for our readers!
