Antigua and Barbuda is a twin-island nation, consisting of a number of different islands. The biggest are the island of Antigua and the island of Barbuda- hence the national name. The islands can be found between the Caribbean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. Many consider these islands a paradise due to the scintillating scenery and breathtaking beaches, but very few know about the nations links to online gaming.
Did you know that Antigua and Barbuda offer a casino licensing body for online casinos? Since as far back as 1994, the Financial Services Regulatory Commission, Division of Gaming has regulated gaming activities on the islands via their regulatory body: The Directorate of Offshore Gaming. They are focused on player safety and protection, as all respected licensing bodies are.
They have a strict and transparent due diligence process in place, to ensure any casino applying for a license is legitimate, trustworthy and capable of carrying out the services it is offering. Once that is confirmed, they must then show to have protection in place for their players, including (but not limited to) an age verification process, checks to ensure gaming is legal in the players country of residence, plus the ability to limit play via methods such as deposit limits and self exclusion.
The Gaming Commission of Antigua and Barbuda offers two different kinds of online casino licenses;
An online casino may apply for one, or both, licenses, depending on the services they intend to offer. At the time of writing, the Gaming Commission has issued 6 of each license and 2 Netent casinos are currently operating with them.
