Casumo Bows Out of German Market
Published on by Adam
Casumo was the worlds first online adventure casino and is one of our firm favourites. Unfortunately now, they’ve had to take the tough decision to cease accepting customers from Germany and to close the accounts of those they already have. Recent verdicts in Germany have seen a number of Netent casinos shut the market down from their operations.
In the case of Casumo, it’s about the value of the market. Germany charges VAT on gaming transactions, and the EU recently decided that even if the casino is not based in the VAT country, VAT would still be charged. Usually operators would only be charged VAT if they had physical operations in that country, but this new regulation makes Germany a tricky market and Casumo have taken the decision to bow out.
Shutting down Germany
Effective immediately, German players can no longer sign up to Casumo and existing German player accounts will be shut down on March 18th. This is to give players time to log in and withdraw any funds that may be remaining in their account. Should this VAT verdict be overturned, then Casumo will consider opening their services to German players again, but until such a time, this wont be an option.
It’s always sad when a casino has to stop accepting players from an EU country, but if you’re not based in Germany then luckily you can still enjoy this top Netent casino. If you sign up via our website before 11th March 2015 and make a deposit of at least €10, you’ll automatically be entered into a draw for €400 in cash.
Casumo prides itself on being the first online adventure casino, adding a social aspect to online gaming and creating a whole new world for you to explore. As you play you’ll be rewarded with trophies and gifts like Free Spins and Bonuses, plus there are constant challenges for players to complete in order to be in with a chance of winning big prizes such as Caribbean holidays.
