Codeta – A Home for Live Casino and Table Games
Published on by Adam
There are hundreds of online casinos out there, so it takes something special to catch the discerning player’s attention. We caught up with Simon Johansson, the affiliate director at Codeta, at SiGMA, to learn more about this casino and what sets it apart in this highly competitive industry.
A focus on the players
From the beginning, the brains behind Codeta wanted to reach very specific players. “From researching the industry, we realized that 99.5% of the casinos today are slot oriented,”Simon said. Table games and live casino seemed to be an afterthought. Codeta was created mainly as a home for players who love these kinds of games, who would otherwise have very limited options for playing their favourite games.
Reaching these players would be more challenging than reaching slot players and Codeta was prepared for that. They designed and created video tutorials so that players could learn the rules of the games on offer without having to read guide after boring guide before getting started.
But the focus is on all players, not just the table game fans and live casino lovers. “We will always be the home for table games players. But a very important discussion we had when we started was that we would never exclude any players, regardless if you play Starburst or Baccarat,” explained Simon.
Challenges and Ambitions
Attracting players to a new online casino can be a challenge in itself but drawing players from a specific group gives that challenge another dimension. Codeta has recently launched in Germany after first having been introduced to the Norwegian, Finnish and Swedish markets. “In the Nordic market, it’s very slots focused. The challenge was to reach out and find the table players,” Simon recalls.
Codeta met that challenge by offering something extra. Aside from the very useful video tutorials, Codeta offers very interesting bonus offers. Players can claim a 10% top-up on their wins or 10% cashback on their losses. Simon explains that players should be rewarded, whether they win or lose. This bonus offer makes sure that happens.
“Table players told us they were tired of receiving free spins offers after losing their money,” he says. “They asked why they couldn’t get a prize when they won.” And so, this unique bonus was implemented, benefitting players whether they prefer Starburst or baccarat.
Have there been any surprises? “One thing we actually have seen is that Baccarat is becoming more and more popular. What people might not know is that Baccarat is the biggest table game in the worst. It’s bigger than blackjack! It’s very big in Asia. Now it is coming to Europe as well,” Simon reveals.
And what’s in Codeta’s future? “We will probably be talking with you, here at the SiGMA Conference, talking about the success of Codeta,” Simon laughs. “We’ll probably do exactly the same as we do today. We will work with the product, try to take it to the next level, working closely with affiliates, and trying to make our players happier and happier.”
