The next Netent casino in our interview series is one of the oldest and greatest- CherryCasino. Cherry also own and run EuroSlots, SpilleAutomater and EuroLotto, but CherryCasino is the real standout online casino, with the prestigious Cherry name and the biggest fan base. The recent iGaming summit in Malta: Sigma, was a great chance for us to get together with some Netent casinos, meet face to face and have a really good chat about who they are, where they’re going and why exactly our readers should be playing on them.
Name: Elaine Gardiner
Position: Affiliate Manager
Casino: EuroSlots, CherryCasino, SpilleAutomater, EuroLotto
Elaine has worked in iGaming for almost 6 years; her time has been split working for both Sportsbook and Casino (which she now focuses on) and has given her extensive knowledge into the industry.
Cherrycasino has been around since 1963 and they are the original owner of NetEntertainment before they became an independent company in 2005. CherryCasino also have a very competitive offer for their main target markets – Sweden, Norway, Finland and Germany – where players can choose their own bonuses of up to €900 or 500 free spins, or combination of both.
Why should we play at EuroSlots, CherryCasino, SpilleAutomater, EuroLotto?
Each of our brands have a unique USP that sets them apart from each other and the competition. For example, EuroSlots is Europe’s first tablet casino and is designed specifically for the ultimate gaming experience on the go. Then we have CherryCasino, which has more than 50 years of history. There’s also SpilleAutomater, which is our brand specifically for Norwegian players, and last but not least we have EuroLotto, which is Europe’s largest daily draw with a jackpot currently sitting at over 26 million euros.
We have a totally new website coming , with several new smart functions and a very much enhanced player experience. First out we have the new Cherrycasino, and then we’ll be rolling out to the other new brand. We’ll also be launching a native app version in the App Store. The first brand to be made available will be Spilleautomater.com, with the other brands to follow shortly. We’re also looking into new gaming verticals for all our brands.
We don’t accept players from the following countries: American Samoa, Bonaire, Canada, France, French Guiana, French Polynesia, Guadeloupe, Guam, Martinique, New Caledonia, Reunion, Saint Barthelemy, Saint Martin (French), Saint Pierre and Miquelon, East Timor, United States of America, Wallis and Futuna, Italy, Spain, the Netherlands, Denmark, Israel, Belgium, United Kingdom and Thailand.
For those of you who can play on Cherry Casino (the rest of Europe!) you’re bound to find an online payment method that suits. Cherry Casino have the best range of payment methods on the market, for all Netent casinos including names like Visa and Mastercard, bank transfer facilitator Trustly and e-wallet Skrill.
The Cherry logo has been existing since the late ‘60s and has undergone several alterations to keep it up with the times. The latest logo was developed when the brand came home in 2013, where we wanted to emphasise that we have now entered a new era.
We are using most of the selection of g ames NetEnt has to offer: RNG games, Touch games for our mobile and tablet products, Live Casino and all the major jackpot games. NetEnt offers a wide range of products, catering to a lot of different player types and we are very pleased with their level of service and quality offered to our customers.
As of right now we don’t. Who knows what will happen during 2015 though!?
Many employees working for Cherry have had a long relationship with NetEnt, and this includes me. During the years, we’ve seen the demand increase for their products, especially for their impressive slot machines. We have also seen stickiness on certain games, which is beyond impressive.
NetEnt focuses on quality and not quantity, and I believe that has been one of the reasons they have succeeded so well.
Their variation of games is big, even though they have previously focused on a pretty “safe” portfolio, meaning more low to medium volatility slots. I think that the demand, both from players and operators, for more high volatility slots is there and during 2014 we have seen a few releases which would indicate that (The Wish Master, for example).
The games themselves have proven to be really popular, especially for our target markets: Sweden, Norway, Finland and Germany. NetEnt is in my opinion definitely one of the best in the world when it comes to online casino games.
Overall we are looking at Starburst, Jackpot 6000 (for Norway mainly), Gonzo’s Quest, Twin Spin and Blood Suckers in the top five. This will probably not come as much of a surprise for your readers. We also see a big increase in activity on the jackpot slots (Mega Fortune, Hall of Gods and Arabian Nights) once the jackpot are increasing) which is understandable – who wouldn’t want to get their hands on those millions?
Fact: Wild Water has proven to be very popular and the stickiness is very impressive. Since release it has always been in the top 10.
I personally did not expect this when the game was released, but I’m happy to admit that I was wrong! Other somewhat unexpected games for specific markets may be that Secret of the Stones has been in the top 10 for our Swedish Players. Piggy Riches as well as Jack and the Beanstalk are also two games that have been in the top range for a very long time. I’m pleased that NetEnt have been browsing through their portfolio of games and made a few of the classics available on mobile now as well!
I cannot argue about Starburst being a very popular and fantastic game. However, if I play a few spins myself, it would not be in Starburst believe it or not.
I would like to highlight a few other games which I think deserve a little bit more love. Wild Rockets is one of my absolute favourites. The excitement with the wild symbols pointing up and down and the possibilities of big wins are definitely there.
Another favourite would be Reel Rush, due to the ambience together with the feeling of old-school video games. Do I need to mention that feeling you get when you’ve almost reached the free spins mode? ☺ It can be very nerve wrecking, but I enjoy it very much.
Last but not least I would say Twin Spin. The game has been very popular since we released it and I understand why. It’s very slick with a Las Vegas-themed design but yet so simple. When the reels pair up and you wait to see the outcome, it is a very exciting moment and NetEnt have really managed to enhance that feeling for the players.
