Not all casino game suppliers and developers have been able to sustain the momentum from 2020 into the new year. There ...

Get ready fight fans, the big night is here. The months of training and practise have all lead up to this night, and these two contenders are in there prime. This is going to be the defining moment of their careers, and only one of them will walk away the victor
Both fighters are walking to the ring and the atmosphere in the stadium is electrifying. Both contenders have been thinking about this moment for a long time, and both fighters are trying to intimidate the other – this bout is just as much about mental warfare as it is physical. The fighters square up to each other, the referee is explaining the rules to them, and both walk away – they don’t touch gloves, this is going to be a real battle!
That’s the sound of the bell. The faceoff begins.
In this instalment of Faceoff, two of the biggest heavy weights are going head to head:
American Express is one of the USA’s largest payment methods and is accepted around the globe for non-casino goods. Nordea is one of the largest banks in northern Europe, and has a history dating all the way back to 1820.
The first round is underway: accessibility. Both fighters are coming out swinging hard and fast.
Nordea is widely accepted as a payment method at many casinos worldwide, likewise with American Express. Both are large institutions in their respective continents, and both are less well recognised in each other continents. But which is most accessible? Nordea is more widely accessible within the European market, and for casinos that don’t accept it as a direct payment method, you can use it via very popular methods like Skrill.
This one is close, both of the fighters came out strong. However, one of them edged into the lead. The accessibility winner is Nordea!
Both fighters are back out of their corners, both a rested and ready to fight. This round is usability.
To pay with American Express you have to have your card and be signed up to a casino. Once you have these two things, payment is easy. You navigate to the banking page, select the American Express payment method, put in your card details, and you’re done.
To pay with Nordea things are equally as simple. All you have to do is sign up to a casino, goo to the payments page, select Nordea as your payment method and then you’re done. The advantage of Nordea is that you don’t need your card to hand in order to pay, you can just use their online portal. However, given that your internet browser will typically now remember your card details, this is advantage is almost non-existent.
Both corners performed well in this round, both held their own and both managed to land some good blows on the other. This one has been close to call. It looks like it’s a draw. Nordea would have won it if it wasn’t for developments in internet browsers.
Things so far have been roughly equal, Nordea might be edging ahead, but there’s not much in it. The big question now is, what’s their cash out like?
American Express does not act as a withdrawal method, you can only deposit using it. Nordea is exactly the same. Instead you’ll have to either withdraw your money via bank transfer, or if you’re Nordea customer you can also use Skrill. Bank transfers can take several days to process, but Skrill is massively quicker.
Both of these fighters have the same weakness, both have the same substantial flaw. But it looks like the corner team for Nordea have saved the day. The winner, by a margin, is Nordea.
Both fighters are getting tired, we are coming close to the end of the fight and they’re running low on gas. This round is transaction fees, and in these late stages there’s everything to play for.
Neither American Express or Nordea charge their customers a transaction fee for depositing, withdrawing, or processing any of your casino payments. However, it is always worth checking the small print of any bank contract for details.
This round is a close call, both fighters are tired but both managed to defend themselves well. As a consequence, no killer punches were landed, and it looks like this round is a clear draw.
This is the last round, both fighters have everything to play for. This can either make them, or this can break them. How do they perform when it comes to casino bonuses?
Well, both of these payment methods have been around for a long time, and both are already well established. This means that, in short, there won’t be any specific bonuses aimed at encouraging customers to use these methods.
However, this doesn’t mean there aren’t plenty of great bonuses out there for players who already use Nordea or American Express. In fact, over on our payments pages you can find an extensive list of all of the great Nordea and American Express bonuses.
Fighters have used all their energy up and have nothing left to offer. This round is certainly a draw.
The final bell has been rung; the fight is over. There has been no knockout blow, so this one is left in the hands of the judges. The winner, by two rounds, is Nordea.
