First Footage of NetEnt’s Flowers Christmas Edition Slot

Published on by Adam

I know, I know, it’s only October but look at it another way and it’s actually only 10 Friday’s until Christmas! No? Too soon to get excited? Well, if you’re still feeling a little Scrooge like, maybe this sneak peek of NetEnt’s first ever Christmas themed slot will get you into the spirit. When NetEnt released their end of 2015 roadmap they gave us the first indication that they were getting Christmas ready.

I’ve always thought that the only area that NetEnt falls down in is that they don’t have any ‘holiday’ specific themed slots. They have wintery ones but no actual Christmas based slot. The same goes for Easter, New Year and Halloween (although quite a few slots based on horror movies such as Dracula!) so I’m really happy to finally see a seasonal slot from NetEnt. Rest assured that every Christmas from now on, the casinos will be offering Flowers Christmas Edition free spins to their players!

Christmas Themed Flowers Slot

The Christmas edition of Flowers is very much like the original slot with the same questionable looking plants and quirky but cute sound effects but it’s had a whole Christmas overhaul. There is snow absolutely everywhere (bad news for a garden I’d have thought!) and the standard letter shaped symbols have all been baked into gingerbread!

Flowers Slot Features

The game holds all the same fun features that we see in the main game, all of which combine to create a NetEnt slot with a super high return to player percentage of 96.3.

Flowers Double Symbols

I’m not sure I’ve spotted this in another NetEnt game, but Flowers and the Flowers Christmas Edition have a really cool ‘Double Symbols’ feature. This is where one symbol box displays two of the same symbols and it works as if there were two symbols, creating more winning pay lines. In the bottom line here you can see that the Bluebell symbols is actually counting as 5 symbols, despite taking up only 3 spaces. This is because two of the symbols are double!

Stacked Wild Symbols

From the first preview footage of Flowers Christmas Edition slot, it looks like the Stacked Wild symbols are still prominent in the Free Spins round. You’ll notice that the Wild symbols sometime stack in order to cover an entire reel, top to bottom, adding extra chances to win.

Flowers Slot Free Spins

The Flowers Christmas Edition Slot also stil has the popular free spins feature. When 4 or more Free Spins symbols appear on the reels it will trigger the free spins bonus round where all wins are multiplied x3.

Flowers Christmas Edition Slot Review

It’s impossible to do a full and honest review of NetEnt’s Christmas themed Flowers slot until I’m able to have my first real money play on it (released December 1st), however from the footage I’ve seen, and from plenty of times playing the original Flowers slot, I can safely say this is going to be a firm favourite. It’s full of great features that actually work to provide you with higher winnings, and, as a Christmas lover, they had me at the theme!

Flowers Christmas Edition is a 5 reel, 30 pay line slot, with Double Symbols that mean you can actually have up to 10 symbols across the 5 reels. There is no extra charge for the double symbols so they literally double your chances of winning, whilst not costing a penny extra per spin. The Flowers Free Spin Bonus Round in the Christmas edition looks set to be a fairly frequent occurrence, so keep an eye out for those fluffy free spins symbols.
