You could forgive the NetEnt design team for allowing themselves a little break following the release of the eagerly awaited Guns N’ Roses slot last month. However, there is clearly no rest for the creative, because they have just released footage of another upcoming game, Aloha: Cluster Pays. The 6-reel, 5-line slot is due for release on March 22nd and if the early footage is anything to go by, it looks like it will be yet another one to look out for.
Aloha! Cluster Pays is a lively, bright slot with a unique structure, a fun theme and a jaunty soundtrack. In fact, the game looks and sounds so vibrant that it almost makes you want to pop a pair of shades on when you play! The design of the game is like no other, with a unique structure supplemented by a host of fantastic features that certainly have us intrigued. Aloha! Cluster Pays was first mentioned in the NetEnt’s Q1 Roadmap for 2016 and will be the last new slot scheduled for release in the first quarter of the year.
As with many NetEnt games, Aloha! Cluster Pays offers that perfect mix of creative design, classic gameplay and unique features. The game is tropical island themed, so you can expect palm trees, smoking volcanoes, blue seas and some pretty nifty dancing when you play. The theme is extended to the slot’s symbols, which include sea shells, grinning tribal masks and juicy looking pineapples.
With six reels, five rows and no bet lines, Aloha! Cluster Pays also represents an entirely new game design . The unique structure provides plenty of scope for the game’s bonus features to take hold and ring in those big wins. Symbol clusters trigger all manner of fantastic bonus rounds that light up your screen in more ways that one, because a fiery ring will develop around adjacent matching symbols when you are in the money.
As the game’s name suggests, symbol clusters are one of the headline features of Aloha! Whenever you score a win on the first three reels, the symbols responsible will freeze while the reels re-spin around them. If you new wins form from the subsequent Sticky re-spin, a new cluster forms and the process is repeated. The chain only breaks when a spin doesn’t trigger a new win, or a cluster expands to the extend where it fills the whole screen (which is good news for you).
Aloha! Cluster Pays also features a free spins round triggered by free spins symbols. The number of free spins you receive depends on how many free spins symbols appear over the course of a single spin, with 3, 4, 5 or 6 free spin symbols converted into 9, 10, 11 and 12 free spins respectively. When you are in Free Spins mode, a Symbol Drop feature removes low paying symbols to increase you chances of winning big.
Now that the first footage of Aloha! Cluster Pays has been released, the countdown to the game’s launch can begin. We certainly can’t wait for the chance to play the game, and luckily we don’t have too long to wait. March 22nd if the date you need to pop in your casino diaries, and if that still seems like too long a wait, fear not because you have the general release of Drive: Multiplier Mayhem to come before February is out.
