Back in August we brought you NetEnts End of Year Roadmap for 2015 and in it, we spotted something peculiar. In November it showed two new game releases: the standard monthly game release of Koi Princess as well as a small line mentioning King of Slots. This is weird because King of Slots already exists and it’s an exclusive slot made for and with Casino Heroes. At that time I speculated about what it could mean, about what NetEnt would be doing with the slot in November and my main assumption was that the slot would be going network wide, instead of remaining exclusive.
An exclusive NetEnt slot is a huge deal for an online casino. In this world where most casinos offer the same product, just in different packaging, it’s a huge bonus for them to have a game that only they can offer. If players love the game, they have to use that casino. It’s created by both NetEnt and the casino, with them deciding together on branding, themes, features, music, graphics and all the tiny details that become a fully functioning game. In my knowledge, it’s unheard of for a previously exclusive NetEnt game to become network wide and end up available on all participating casinos so whilst I think that’s what’s going to happen, I cannot imagine why.
As you can see from the video above, this new version of the game with the same name is a little different from the original, which you can view here:
The new game, as seen at the top of the post seems to keep the same game base, with the reels adorned with the same symbols and with those same distinctive antique golden borders around each symbol, adding some real class and elegance. The features of the game seem to have remained the same with 5 reels, 3 lines and 25 winning pay lines and extras such as unlimited respins with the Sticky Win feature, a free spins bonus round, multipliers and Wild and Scatter symbols.
Whenever you have a winning combination on the reels, the winning symbols will stick in place and the remaining symbols will respin, entirely free of course! Then, if you win on that resulting respin, the new winning symbols will stick along with the originals and another respin will occur, on going until no winning combinations appear on the reels. This is a huge way to boost winnings even further with every single spin.
5 or more Scatter Symbols appearing on the reels at one time will trigger the free spins bonus round within which, winnings are multiplied by x3 automatically!
It seems that the main changes are really cosmetic. From what I can see, the logo text has changed somewhat, the background no longer shows the Casino Heroes islands and there is a brand new character on the page, who I assume is the King of Slots himself. This is good news for all slots lovers as it means if you don’t have a Casino Heroes account for whatever reason, you will soon be able to enjoy this previously exclusive slot and for those of you who like Kind of Slots it’s pretty good news too as now you can also play it anywhere and will hopefully enjoy this new look version.
This new and improved version of King of Slots, whether updated only on Casino Heroes, or opened up network wide, will be brought to us on November 12th 2015 so lets keep an eye out and see exactly what will happen!
