This February will see the release of one of the first NetEnt games of the year: Golden Grimoire – which will be launched on the 21st.
On that date, we promise to have a full review of the new mind-bending and magical video slot.
In the meantime, we thought we’d share a bit of the hype wilth you. Read below for more details on the dimension-warping new video slot!
A ‘grimoire’ is a book of spells and magical invocations, so the theme of Golden Grimoire will be quite obvious: magic, the occult, and gold! NetEnt, it seems, are hoping that their players might be in for some magical jackpots!
To create an occult and magical theme, NetEnt have based the layout of the game around an occultist’s desk in front of a foreboding rose window.
The pale moonlit night streams through the window and casts its cold gaze upon the 5-reel, 4-row, and 40-fixed bet line slot-reel.
As the slot-reel spins and you enter different game modes, the cool light turns hot pink and the music intensifies – something magical is happening, and free spins or wild symbols may be on their way.
Golden Grimoire has eight different coin values (ranging from £0.01 to £2) and ten different bet levels. The bet level determines the number of coins placed on each bet line, and the coin value determines the value of each of those coins placed.
At the end of the scale, Golden Grimoire has a maximum bet value of £400 and a minimum of £0.2.
The game is designed and programmed in HTML5, which means it will be completely compatible with your mobile devices (phones, tablets, etc.). It is also in HD resolution and has an RTP of 96.44%.
Golden Grimoire has some interesting built in features and, before the release, we thought it’d be a good idea to give you a rundown of them.
Firstly, Golden Grimoire has a ‘Mystery Symbol’ feature. The mystery symbol can appear on reels 3, 4 or 5 in the main game, and when one or more do, then they’ll be replaced by a Wild symbol or a low or medium win symbol. If the transformed mystery symbol matches the leftmost symbol in that row, then all the symbols will (as if by magic) be transformed into the same symbol.
Secondly, Golden Grimoire has a ‘Sticky Mystery Symbol’ feature too. This is like the mystery symbol from the main game, but it only appears in the Free Spins round. When this Sticky symbol lands, it does not leave its position until the end of the free spins round.
Third, Golden Grimoire has a Free Spins round. Whenever three scatter symbols land on the slot-reel, then the free spins round will be activated. Players will get eight free spins and will have the opportunity to maximise their wins with the Sticky Mystery Symbol too.
If you want to find out more about these features, then closer to the date we’ll be hosting a demo version of the game that’ll allow you to play the game without wagering any cash. Therefore, you can get used to the mechanics before you start playing for real.
If you like the sound of the game so far, then you need not wait too much longer as it will be released on 21st February. In the meantime, you can take a look at this teaser trailer from NetEnt.
