If you’re a regular follower of our articles, you’ll have noticed a sudden influx of NetEnt jackpot wins in the last couple of weeks; each netting their respective winners several millions in euros. In the time since, we have been inundated with requests from readers asking for hints and tips for how they might go about securing the next big win. So, here goes:
If you’re already an avid player, or have perused our ‘Jackpot‘ pages before arriving here, you can likely skim over this section. If you’re new to jackpots and want to know what they’re all about, and how you can play, however, it could be a good place to start.
Visually, there is very little difference between video slots and jackpot slots at first glance; they feature the same five reel, three row layouts as most video slots. As you play, you’ll potentially win the same as you would from your usual video slots; a quantity of coins which, when calculated by your chosen wagering amount, will dictate how much you win in real cash. However, players also have the potential of triggering a bonus round- which is where the big wins come in.
On these ‘network’, or ‘pooled’ jackpot slots- which are by no means restricted for use on desktop- with each available in iPad jackpot, iPhone jackpot and Android jackpot format to boot, the winnings are ‘progressive’. Much like a lottery- where previously unclaimed sums are added to the total as a roll-over, every time a player clicks to spin their wager, a proportion of this sum is added to the prize pool. Because of this, the jackpot totals grow constantly until they are hit.
On games such as Mega Fortune and Hall of Gods, there are not one, but three jackpots available- a smaller ‘Mini Jackpot’, a ‘Midi Jackpot’ and the one everyone is after- the ‘Mega Jackpot’.
The answer: as likely as anyone else. Whether you’re talking jackpot slots or video slots, game play is all governed by random number generation- effectively meaning that there is no way to predict what will come up next (despite popular opinion to the contrary). It has been known for players who have won mini jackpots to go on to win the mega jackpot- something no-one could predict.
There are no strategies you can employ in game play itself although, of course, the more you play the more likely you are to land the big win. Some people do suggest that the larger wagers make it more likely that you will win, however, plenty of casino-made millionaires secured their wins with very small wagers- as little as 20c a spin.
Having said all of the above, that doesn’t mean there is no way to improve your likelihood of winning- there is! A quick online search for NetEnt jackpot graphs and you’ll get a complete overview of the current status of all of NetEnt’s current jackpots; telling you when they were last hit, how many days there is usually between each hit, and the size of the prizes as they stand. You’ll also get a percentage rating, depending upon how ‘hot’ the jackpot is at the time. If your fingers are itching to play to win the Hall of Gods jackpot- for example, why not check to see which jackpot is ‘hottest’ before sticking steadfastly to one game?
If Mega Fortune is your game of choice, you’ll be well used to the classic millionaire pursuit symbols (perhaps representative of what you might want to spend your winnings on?); such as limos, jewellery, champagne, speedboats and cigars. To start the bonus round, you’ll need three bonus symbols to line up along the reels.
When they do, you’ll open up the Mega Fortune jackpot bonus wheel. You can click when you want to slow it to a stop; you’re looking out for the arrows. Get one, and the next wheel in will start spinning. If, at any point, you land a number rather than an arrow, the bonus game is over and you win that quantity of coins. It was hit in November 2015 for €8.5 million and again, on the 7th December, for €1.3 million.
The Nordic Gods-themed slot is a huge hit. Hit back in December 2015 for a huge €7 million, Hall of Gods features a simple, yet effective, bonus round. Again, land three bonus symbols on the reels- depicted by a hammer and shield, and you’ll begin the jackpot bonus round.
On the bonus game, a selection of 15 identical shields are displayed and, to win the Hall of Gods jackpot, you’ll need to hit the shields and (with a little luck) reveal three ‘Mega jackpot’ symbols.
The Arabian Nights jackpot works a little differently to the Hall of Gods jackpot and Mega Fortune jackpot. On Arabian Nights, the game set-up is identical to the usual video slots; there are five reels and three rows. To win the Arabian Nights ‘super’ jackpot, you must line up 5 wild symbols along an active win line and must be playing with the maximum possible wager- €5 per spin.
If you’ve ever played Mega Fortune, Mega Fortune Dreams will look fairly familiar as it is, in basic terms, a palm-lined, tropical, diamond-encrusted version of the same game. Originally intended to replace the original, it proved so popular that NetEnt decided to keep both.
To win, you’ll need to line up three bonus symbols and, as in the Mega Fortune jackpot slot, you’ll be presented with a spinning wheel. Again, you’ll need to click to stop the wheel and hope that you get arrows all round until the line up to point towards the ‘Mega’ jackpot central symbol.
If you’re an iPhone jackpot player or, similarly, an iPad jackpot player or even an Android jackpot player, you’ll have no issue spinning the reels at any of the above. In fact, roll back several months and one LeoVegas player scooped a huge €5.6 million- the largest ever mobile jackpot win! The majority of NetEnt games are available on NetEnt Touch for mobile; so you should have no problems playing for the jackpot on the move.
So, you’ve learnt about HOW you play each of NetEnt’s jackpot slots and, given the sums involved, we’re sure it’s pretty evident WHY you might play. The question now is, WHERE?
Pooled or network jackpot slots are available at the majority of the most well-respected casinos- essential when you consider that you must trust them to hand over your life-changing winnings if you do hit the jackpot. There are several we’d recommend looking at (based on player reviews, previous jackpot wins and trustworthiness).
