NetEnt have a strong reputation for releasing industry-leading branded games, and, ever since February 2018’s ICE Gaming event, people have been chomping at the bit to find out more about their Narcos video slot.
Well, fortunately, the time has come because now we have plenty more details ahead of the game’s release on May 23rd. Want to find out more? Then keep reading!
Narcos is a 5-reel, 3-row video slot with 243 fixed bet lines. The theme of the NetEnt Narcos video slot is the Colombian cartel and all the dark, gritty, and illegal things that they did during the reign of the infamous Pablo Escobar.
The game is produced in association with the Gaumont Film Company and utilises the plotline and style of the Netflix hit show Narcos. It borrows most heavily from season 1, which was by far the fan favourite season.
The values of the symbols come in three tiers: low, medium, and high. The high value symbols are some of the best, featuring the characters that we all love to see on screen: Agents Javier Peña and Steve Murphy, Gonzalo Rodríguez Gacha, and Connie Murphy.
The lower value symbols are the A, K, Q, and J, which are adorned with money and weapons.
Whilst the two medium value symbols are the infamous monoplane used to smuggle drugs across the Caribbean and a pink flamingo (an obvious nod to Scarface here).
In addition to this, there are free spins symbols, the locked-up symbol, the golden locked up symbol, the wild, and walking wilds. We’ll take a look at all of these features in more detail below.
The betting in the game is really simple and very easy to master. There are eight different coin values (0.01, 0.02, 0.05, 0.1, 0.2, 0.5, 1, 2) and ten different bet levels (1 – 10). This allows you to make a minimum bet of 0.2 and a maximum of 400.
If you win big in Narcos, then you could be as rich as the Medellín cartel: the maximum win is €602,400!
There are a host of cartel themed features in Narcos.
This is activated when 3 or more of the locked up symbols land on the same row. During this mode only the two types of locked up symbols appear: normal and golden. This round starts with three spins. If another normal or golden locked up symbol appears, adding to the winning cluster, then it stays.
Golden locked up symbols give added multipliers. Maximising your potential wins.
If three scatter symbols land on reels 1, 3, and 5 in the main game, then 10 free spins are activated.
Whilst this is active, the wilds will keep moving horizontally across one place to the left (smuggling their way across the border of the reels).
Is randomly activated when a cartel car approaches the slot reel and performs a drive-by. Its bullets make holes in high value symbols and turn them into wilds. Watch out you don’t get hit!
We all love the Narcos series on Netflix, binge watching the series 1 is one of life’s truest delights. Who knew we’d be rooting for Pablo Escobar, a murderous drug dealer who probably managed to ruin the lives of countless people with the cocaine that he sold?
The wait between the series was much less fun, but fortunately we’ve currently got NetEnt’s trailer for the game!
You can check the trailer out here, which looks as cool as Pablo Escobar’s Hawaiian shirts.
