NetEnt are celebrating a whopping 20 years in the industry this year and, with two decades of gaming knowledge simmering behind the scenes, they know better than anyone what the players want. And unsurprisingly given the rave reviews that accompanied the release of their branded Guns N’ Roses slot on the 21st January this year, they’ve just announced that this rock-themed slot will soon be followed by two other- equally as exciting- rock/slot hybrids. Next in the line up? Jimi Hendrix! To be followed swiftly by Motörhead!
Every year, industry professionals from around the world swarm on London for the ICE Total Gaming event. Software providers, casinos and affiliates all fill the rooms at the ExCel centre in the capital and it is renowned for being an event where news is broken and history is made. At last year’s event, NetEnt chose to announce to the crowds that they would begin the development of the Guns ‘N Roses slot and this years event has been even more eventful.
Beginning with a press release to coincide with their arrival at the conference centre, NetEnt began leaking their big news. At first, just stating that they would be “showcasing the future of online gaming”- with rumours of virtual slots experiences and 3D sound suggested. But once at the event, the big news was announced. To continue with their promise to release a trio of rock slots (catchily titled “NetEnt Rocks”), they will be developing two new slots for 2016: Jimi Hendrix slot and Motörhead slot.
Quite how it’ll look, or the features it will include, are still unreleased, but we can only expect good things based upon the guitar-gods status. The rock guitarist, singer and songwriter, who passed away in 1970, is widely claimed to be among the best guitarists to ever live- world-renowned for his outrageous solos. NetEnt’s Guns N’ Roses slot, which has led to more free spins promotions than we’ve seen for a long time, gives us hope that the Jimi Hendrix slot will do it’s namesake justice also.
NetEnt’s Jimi Hendrix slot does not have a release date just yet, but we’re reliably informed it will be sometime in April or early May. Considering the Guns N’Roses slot took almost a year from announcement to release, we can only presume that the designers are already in the process of creating the Jimi Hendrix slot.
Unlikely to be one for the faint-hearted, the Motörhead slot announcement should delight rock fans from the band’s home country; the UK, and further afield. Infamous for tracks including Ace of Spades, The Game and Overkill, Motörhead are often referred to as the loudest band in the world, so we doubt the slot will be a shrinking violet!
Again, NetEnt have yet to announce the release date for their Motörhead slot, but it will undoubtedly be towards the end of the year- with September looking likely.
Rest assured though, that as soon as more details are released on either this or the Jimi Hendrix slot, you’ll be the first to know! When Guns N’Roses was announced last year, a YouTube video followed shortly behind, so we’re hopeful we’ll be able to give you a sneak peek of these two exciting new NetEnt slots very shortly.
