Netent casino Mr Green is set to take a step into the Italian market after acquiring the Italian licensed Mybet Italia. They plan to use the license to launch Mr Green in Italy, pending approvals from AAMS, the Italian regulatory body. This is a clever move from Mr Green- in order to operate in Italy, a casino operator must hold an Italian license, however the AAMS is not currently issuing any new licenses, so by acquiring an Italian licensed operator, they also acquire the license they so need in order to launch their own brand.
The launching of Mr Green in Italy, even with the newly gained license, will still require some approvals from the AAMS, in order to ensure that the new brand is in line with regulations but Mr Green are hopeful. They have always planned to increase their customer base in regulated markets such as Italy, so this is just one small step in their overall plan to dominate these lucrative (but often tricky) markets.
It still remains to be seen, whether they will launch their own brand and halt operations of Mybet Italia, or if they will keep the brand ticking over, but for now, Mr Green CEO Mikael Pawlo has confirmed it will be ‘business as usual’ until further investigation and decisions have been made. This is an exciting time for Mr Green, which is a casino going from strength to strength and for Italian players who, most likely, will soon have a new casino to choose from.
