We love playing at online casinos and know that our readers do too. It’s exciting and fun, but it can also be easy to forget that playing at a casino comes with its own rights and obligations, laid out in the infamous terms and conditions.
Today we are going to talk about what you should be looking for when reading the T&C , ideally before you sign up to play with any casino.
Every online casino is obliged to make its terms and conditions readily available to anyone who would like to read them. You’ll usually find them at the bottom of the home page and sometimes also in the FAQ page, if that is available.
Most casinos will also make the full T&C document available at the registration stage, though people are tempted to just click ‘Accept’ before reading any of it. Sure, it’s a (usually long) boring legal document, but there is no good reason to start playing without being familiar with the terms. Play smart!
You must be of legal age to gamble in your country, in order to play at an online casino. If you are not of legal age, stop right there – do not pass go, do not collect $200 and do not, under any circumstances, attempt to sign up to any online casino. It will not end well for you.
Most casinos also have restrictions on where their players are playing from. Check for any country restrictions and whether you are in one of the places on that list. Again, it is unwise to attempt to sign up to play if you are in a restricted country and most casinos will simply not allow you to sign up at all.
Some casinos will put all their terms and conditions into one document while other prefer to put their bonus T&C separately. Either way, you need to become familiar with the way your bonus will be handled.
Read up on the playthrough requirements and on whether specific games or categories of games are excluded from bonus promotions. You can also find out whether bonuses are cashable. Keep an eye out for any terms that seem unfair or that will allow the casino to void your winnings, even if you have followed the rules.
It seems like every app and gadget is asking us to read and agree to terms and conditions these days, so much so that many people simply don’t bother.
When it comes to playing online casino, we cannot stress enough how important it is to familiarize yourself with the rules. If you don’t, you risk having winnings voided, withdrawal requests cancelled or significantly delayed, your account closed or suspended, or, in the really worst case scenario, the authorities involved.
The terms and condition document may be boring – we’ve read enough of them to know that is true – but it is an integral part to having a fun and hassle-free time at your next online casino.
