Seconds after I had published an article about NetEnt closing a deal with the world-famous Caesars Palace Casino I received another NetEnt announcement, this time stating its games had gone ‘live’ on a Danske Spil owned online casino brand.
The NetEnt – Danske Spil ‘hit-and-run’ deal
Sometimes it takes over a year after a ‘license deal’ is closed before a casino or casinos operating company actually launches the NetEnt casino games on their casino website(s). Sometimes however it seems a provider can’t hardly wait to offer the exciting online casino gaming products of the Swedish – Maltese company to its players.
As recent as on March the 30-th of this year NetEnt announced it had closed a ‘license agreement deal’ with Danske Spil, to thus provide the ‘non-profit’ operator with a part of its portfolio of games. And already today a selection of NetEnt video slots is available on its online casino brand Vegas.dk.
Danske Spil ‘curious’ Danish license holder
Danske Spil was already founded (under the name ‘Dansk Tipstjeneste A/S’) in 1948 as the Danish National Lottery (toto and sports betting). Licensed by the Danish Government, until today the gaming provider is a ‘non-profit’ organization, as it shares are divided between the Danish state (80%). the Danish Sports- and Olympics Committee (10%) and several Danish sports- and gymnastics associations (10%). All profits generated by its activities are thus used for the general benefit and well-being of Danish society.
However, although being an almost 100% ‘state owned’ establishment and with its other shareholders being Danish (government) institutions at the same time Danske Spil still needs to compete with other ‘commercial’ online casinos active on (and licensed for) the Danish iGaming market. It therefore has some ‘priviliges’ and is Danske Spil for example the only operator that’s allowed to offer certain games such as scratchcards, bingo and lotteries to Danish players.
Vegas.dk new NetEnt Casino?
The Danske Spil casino in which the first batch of NetEnt games were launched, Vegas.dk, is of course completely focused on Danish players and therefore has its website only available in the Danish language too. The collection of NetEnt games that were added consists of only video slots, under which ‘the usual suspects’ being of course the most popular like video slot Starburst, Gonzo’s Quest, video slot Twin Spin and the recently released video slot Spiñata Grande. The only NetEnt classic slot that was launched was Jackpot 6000 and in all Vegas.dk now offers 12 NetEnt games to its players.
If Vegas.dk will be added to our website as a ‘fully fledged’ NetEnt Casino at this moment isn’t clear and depends on many circumstances. As part of Danske Spil there’s no doubt Vegas.dk is a trustworthy, safe and reliable online gaming establishment. There might however exist specific license related rules, regulations and restrictions on ‘promotional’ activities by third-party websites such as ours, and which might prevent Vegas.dk from allowing an entry on our Leading NetEnt Fansite.
