Netent Announces Dedication to Equal Male/Female Divide
Published on by Adam
I’ve spoken before about the effects of gender in gaming, and every now and again we see new ‘female focused’ casinos opening up their doors. Now, Netent have confirmed they’re on board, with an aim to achieve a 50% male and 50% female player base across their platform by 2020 at the latest.
In order to not only succeed, but become a real phenomenon in the gaming market, women have to be considered, targeted and welcomed, just as males are. This goes for all aspects- internally, as well as externally.
As well as focusing on female players, Netent are also keen to even up the gender divide internally within their staff. Currently, under 40% of their staff are female and they sincerely hope to even that statistic out too. When it comes to employees though, the main focus is always the experience, personality and all round suitability of the candidate, regardless of gender, however Netent CEO Per Eriksson is very open about the fact that women applicants are just as eligible as men, just sometimes a little harder to find.
As a women myself, I’m so pleased to hear my favourite game provider thinking along these terms and publicly declaring their support for women in gaming, both as employees and players and I can’t wait to see how they aim to attract more women to their slots. As well as a growth in female focused casinos, I think, with this announcement, there should be even more fun and feminine slots appearing in Netent’s portfolio over the next few years.
