NetEnt’s next Annual General Meeting might still be more than 6 months away, the casino game producer has already appointed the nominating committee ahead of this event. According to the company’s regulations the three shareholders or owner groups with the most shares, and therefor the largest number of votes, need to appoint this committee at the end of August.
Besides the committee members chosen by the three largest shareholders, the Chairman of the Board of Directors is also a member of the nominating committee. This committee now consists of the following members:
A nominating committee of a company is a group of people that deals with the corporate governance, or the rules, processes and practices a company follows, and evaluates the workings of the board of directors, who are responsible for this governance. A committee tends to be involved in reviewing the operations of the board of directors and appointing new members.
As NetEnt is a public company shareholders have a say about the operations of the board of directors. The biggest shareholders or owner group may appoint the members of the nominating committee and all shareholders can submit proposals to this committee ahead of the general meeting. NetEnt has set the deadline for the submission of proposals to the nominating committee on 2 December 2016. The Annual General Meeting will be held in the Swedish capital Stockholm on 21 April 2017.
Despite its public status, which means the company is listed on the stock market and needs to answer to shareholders’ demands, NetEnt has been able to offer a good return on shareholders’ investment as well as develop innovative products. The game developer always seems one step ahead of competitors and has been able to entertain slot game lovers for two decades. In celebration of NetEnt’s 20 year anniversary the company has developed a slot game trilogy with the NetEnt Rocks. After wooing fans with the slot games Guns N’ Roses and Jimi Hendrix, the game producer will launch the third instalment, Motörhead, tomorrow, Thursday 22 September.
