Netent branded video slots: “To be or not to be” branding…

Netent video slot Gonzo's Quest soon to be branded by Hollywood?After the presentation of the upcoming new Netent “branded” video slot Aliens last week we’ve been having some discussions at the offices of the Netent Online Casino Guide. “Branding” (very simplified put) is a marketing tool by which a product or service is linked to another product of service, thus increasing the recognition and attractiveness of the product (or service) for a certain consumer market. Branding is everywhere, and a simple example of this phenomena is the plastic drinking cup producer that prints an image of Mickey Mouse on its cups, thus linking its own products (drinking cups) to another famous brand (a Walt Disney-character). Needless to say the producer expects to see the popularity (and thus the sale) of its cups increase as a. the cups become more “visible” and recognizable and b. Mickey Mouse adds another dimension to the product (which otherwise would be a simple “cup”).

Officially Netent has produced five “branded” video slots, being video slot Scarface, video slot Dallas, video slot Frankenstein, video slot South Park and video slot Creature from the Black Lagoon. The Netent product (a video slot) is linked to a famous movie or television series and in the case of these branded Netent games it will not only increase recognition (sheer by the name of the game), but also results in “intrinsic” improvement (a “Better Game”) as its gameplay, special game features or bonus games are directly connected to the brand used.

Some of us however interpret branding in relation to Netent casino gaming products a little bit broader, and as a matter of fact “the other way around”… Because after Netent released video slot Hot City it didn’t take long before the television series “Sex and the City” aired; after releasing the video slot Secret Code the movie The Da Vinci Code was made and after launching the highly popular Netent video slot Blood Suckers a whole range of vampire and supernatural themed television series was produced.

Of course we’re exaggerating a little bit and most of the above stated isn’t true , but… perhaps it won’t be long before Hollywood picks up on the exciting Netent video slot Gonzo’s Quest and produces “Gonzo’s Quest, The Movie” (based on the game’s story-line and with Robert De Niro playing the role of Gonzo) or Comedy Central branding Netent video slot Demolition Squad, producing an animated television series becoming as popular as the one Netent video slot South Park is based on… You never know…
