Earlier this week, we brought you the news that NetEnt had announced their roadmap for the third quarter of the year. As always, this is a very exciting event, both for the players who love this provider’s offerings and for those in charge of writing about the
new games (that’s us!).
The roadmap included a game entitled ‘NRVNA: The Nxt Xperience’, with the launch date set for the 12th July. We have a few ideas about what this game could entail.
Sequel or reboot?
As the dedicated NetEnt fans might already know, a game with the same name already exists. So what could this new release be? One guess is that it is a reboot – a redesign, from the ground up, that keeps some essence of the older iteration, either in design, mechanics or gameplay.
Another, slightly less likely option is that the new game will be a sequel, a Part 2, if you will. While we’re not convinced a sequel game would not include a reference to that fact within the name – it is after all called ‘NRVNA’ not ‘NRVNA 2’ – there is the possibility that a second game would somehow tie in to the first. How exactly? We can’t be sure but we’re eager to find out!
Aside from the ambient mood music that accompanies the first NRVNA, the game itself is pretty simple. Therein lies its appeal. Simple game mechanics make for a very relaxing experience.
So what might the new game offer? If it is indeed a sequel, we may not see massive changes – they have obviously found a formula that works so sticking to it might make sense.
On the other hand, if this is an overhaul of the first game, there really is no telling what NetEnt might come up with, which features it will keep and which ones it will replace.
