I am a total tech-nerd so when I first used Apple’s TouchID on the iPhone5 I was overjoyed at how quick, effective and reliable the functionality was. I never had an issue with the device recognising my fingerprint and I never had an issue with the device accepting incorrect fingerprints. It was so much faster than the traditional passcode lock and finally made safety seamless rather than a hassle.
Imagine my excitement then, when I heard that now, online gaming website SkyBet are introducing this login method on their mobile site! SkyBet is the betting branch of Sky Betting and Gaming who also run the casino branch SkyVegas.
The initially rolled the TouchID login process to just 10% of their SkyBet customers to make sure the process was smooth, safe and that, most importantly, customers liked the change and saw it as an improvement. The feedback they saw was ‘overwhelmingly positive’ and the TouchID login was then rolled out to 50% and by now, should be available for all SkyBet customers.
This is a huge leap for online gaming and a really cool way to make logging in quicker and more effective whilst not compromising on safety. Due to the success of the launch, I’ve no doubt that we’ll see this method popping up on a whole range of Netent Casinos in the coming months, as no doubt Sky Betting and Gaming will include all their brands, like SkyVegas, and then it’s only a matter of time before more and more casinos jump on the fingerprint band wagon.
